ECO-ADVOCATES

Trains youth (17-21 yrs) in urban agriculture and participatory community development by conducting classroom and hands-on educational and vocational trainings and community service sessions. Youth train on 5 agriculture sites within 1 block of the main campus.

PROJECT WELCOME HOME

Delivers household items (mattresses, kitchen tables and chairs, dressers, couches, linens, pots and pans, etc.) to low and very low income families and individuals. The organization provides household items at no charge to poor families and delivers it to them at no charge.

NEIGHBORHOOD TOOL BANK

Over the last nine years, the Neighborhood Tool Bank has provided supplies and equipment to help both private residents and local neighborhood groups make environmental improvements within their neighborhoods. The Tool Bank has also worked with a total of 1,200 individuals within the community helping them to conduct a total of 190 community service projects

ROCKFORD REUSE CENTER

The reuse center reduces landfill waste, decreases energy costs, and conserves forest resources by recycling used materials and redistributing them for new purposes

YOUTHBUILD MENTORING ALLIANCE

The YouthBuild USA National Mentoring Alliance is a new effort to strengthen outcomes for YouthBuild participants by providing volunteer mentors to help them prepare for the future and work with them to achieve goals

AMERICORPS

As part of a national service movement overseen by the Corporation for National Service and YouthBuild USA, members perform community service, and in exchange receive an education award upon completion which can be used to pay for college or vocational training. Service is aimed at "getting things done "in communities.
